ANDREA DALY is a composer, songwriter and singer based in Brooklyn, NY. Her multi-genre output covers pop, soul, singer-songwriter, musical theatre, and classical work.
Andrea is the 2016 recipient of The ASCAP Foundation Harold Arlen Musical Theater Award. She is a member of The Dramatists Guild of America and an alumna of the ASCAP Musical Theatre Workshop in New York (2016), the ASCAP/Dreamworks Workshop in L.A. (2016), the NAMT Festival of New Musicals (2015), the Goodspeed Musicals Writers’ Colony (2014), and the Johnny Mercer Songwriters Project (2012), with mentors and panelists including Stephen Schwartz, Dick Scanlon, Irene Mecchi, Craig Carnelia, Andrew Lippa, and Lari White. Andrea additionally freelances as a audio editor and session singer in NYC, collaborating with Grammy-winning producers, artists and engineers. Her work is published by The Musical Company and Warner/Chappell Music.
Andrea holds a PhD in Music Composition from Stony Brook University in New York, where she was awarded the Ackerman Prize in Music, President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching, and Stony Brook’s prestigious Graduate Council Fellowship. She received a B.A. in Music from Kenyon College in Ohio, graduating with Highest Honors in Music and the David B. Perry Prize.
A Michigan native, Andrea has lived and taught elementary school in southern France, and backpacked or traveled in England, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Belgium, Monaco, the Netherlands, Denmark, Austria, the Czech Republic, Turkey, China, Japan, Honduras, Peru, Belize, Mexico, St. Maarten, Indonesia, Fiji, and Ireland––where half her family is from, which is why she can’t tan.
